We believe that if a community’s focus is strictly on care, they don’t care enough. At The Social at Vinings, great care is just a by-product of bigger and better things.
Just when you thought life by the Chattahoochee couldn’t get any better, The Social at Vinings has raised the bar. Great scenery is just the start. We’ve also instilled a new philosophy on senior living, as fresh as the morning breeze while in the rocking chairs of one of our three courtyards overlooking the Atlanta skyline. See, to us you’re not a senior, you’re a hero. You’ve fulfilled your obligations to your job and raising kids, but you haven’t stopped living. We believe the best part of your life is yet to come.
Making your Colonial-mansion dreams a reality, spend your days here strolling along tree-lined walking paths or perhaps you’d like to read a book in the grand library! At The Social at Vinings, you can pursue your passions, learn, laugh, play, and dream. And you’ll do it with friends who share your interests, and our team members who cheer you on every step of the way.
If the need arises in the years to come, know that all of our team members are NIDE (National Institute for Dementia Education) certified, which is a mouthful to say, but simply means that our team members are prepared and qualified to interact with your loved one as a unique human being, not a case study.
The Social at Vinings team members (employees) come to work each day to build long lasting friendships with our older adults. Many of our key leaders bring valuable experience to our industry from other fields. Simply put, our leaders believe that if we treat our team well, they will, in turn, love our residents well.
Senior Living is ideal for residents who value their independence but need support with daily activities. Our community team members are raving fans of encouraging independence with help readily accessible at all times of the day.
Memory Care is for those who are living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or other forms of changing cognitive abilities. Our memory care communities are designed to empower residents to make their own living choices. This allows us to interact with our residents as unique people rather than objects in need of care.
Keep up with the latest news and events at The Social at Vinings.
This... this 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 is why we do what we do. And 𝘨𝘰𝘴𝘩, do we love it!
When you picture all the things you want to accomplish in your life, your goals don’t often include what happens when more wrinkles speed up and you start to slow down.
That is when our hearts at Thrive come most alive though. We know with every grey hair, there is a lifetime worth of stories and countless memories + lessons to be shared.

Wednesday was “Random Acts of Kindness Day” • Yesterday was “National Drink Wine Day” • But today... today is not only “National Chocolate Mint Day”, but also “𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲!” (We’re a bit bias and have a favorite out of these, but we’ll leave the guessing up to you! -hint, wine is a close second 😉🍷)
We challenge you to combine these special days this week in any combination you like, as long as you include thanking a caregiver! Randomly text and/or treat your favorite CNA, HHA, etc. and let them know you see and feel the love they pour into their passion!
We personally thank each and every one of these life changing team members who devote their lives to the betterment of others. Our Thrive family, our community, and our over-all experience would not be possible without them! 💊🤍💉✨

In honor of ensuring that the outpour of love isn’t only felt on Valentine’s Day, we bring you the love story of Hoyt and Margaret Sloop! ❤️✨
Margaret is a resident at The Social at Cotswold in Charlotte, NC. She and Hoyt were married for 71 years! Here is their daughter, Mindy’s, recollection of their life-long love:
“In 1942, Daddy had been out of college for two years and was working at the YMCA in Kannapolis, NC. He was intelligent, athletic and handsome with hazel eyes that danced with mischief. Bowling was a favorite past time and he bowled at the local bowling alley. It was at the bowling alley that a cute, petite brunette with dark brown eyes and a sunny disposition caught his attention. Mama and Daddy began dating as the war raged in Europe and in the Pacific. WWII created extraordinary circumstances and interrupted the lives and plans of many, including those of our parents. Mama and Daddy had only been dating a few months when he enlisted in the Naval Air Corps. Mama had been accepted into the School of Nursing at Cabarrus Hospital but after having only dated six months, Mama and Daddy followed their hearts and got married on August 16, 1942. Mama gave up her dream of becoming a nurse to follow daddy as he began his training as a naval aviator. Mama and Daddy went on to raise three children and continued to live in the same town where they met in 1942. They were married for seventy-one years! • Though Daddy has been gone for seven years, his spirit resides in his children and Mama, keeping her connected and happy. They weathered many storms, but it was their commitment and love for each other that kept the bond that was formed in 1942 unbroken.” ❤️ #virtualvalentine #cometolovehere ... See MoreSee Less

A true story of 𝓁𝑜𝓋𝑒 𝒶𝓉 𝒻𝒾𝓇𝓈𝓉 𝓈𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 for Thriver 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐞, a resident at 𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙶𝚎𝚘𝚛𝚐𝚒𝚊𝚗 𝙻𝚊𝚔𝚎𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎 in Roswell, GA - as told by her daughter, Janie:
"My mother, Jane, has lived at Georgian Lakeside since 2019! She and my Dad were married on Valentine's Day 1953. ❤️ They were married for 43 years before he passed suddenly in 1996. Their love story began as a true Cinderella story in 1952. Dad was on the trolley in Atlanta on his way to work. Mom was getting on when she dropped her earring. The driver had to wait for her to find it. She then sat by Dad who smiled at her when she got off at Rich's and told her "be careful with those earrings!" She rode the trolley home that night, but Dad was way at the back, (yet he did see where she got off ). Well - he thought he would see her the next day, but she had only ridden the trolley that one particular day as normally she got a ride. But Dad faithfully looked for her on the trolley over the next 2 weeks! Then finally he got off the trolley at her street and went door to door looking for her. All he knew was that she worked at Rich's and was a beautiful brunette. Sure enough, an older lady at a boarding house told him, "you must mean Jane!" Mom came down the stairs and saw Dad waiting at her door... The rest is history! They went on to have 5 children, 13 grandchildren and about to be 7 great grandchildren. God has been so good to our family!"
